DES MOINES, Iowa-NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson recently announced that U.S. Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral will keynote the Feb. 9 Access Across America Economic Empowerment Summit in Des Moines, Iowa. The summit will concentrate on federal and private resources available to all credit unions to assist with outreach efforts. The program will address a wide variety of topics, and top government speakers will provide useful information for credit union attendees, according to Johnson. Cabral, who was just sworn in Jan. 18, oversees the U.S. Mint and acts as a spokesperson for the Treasury Department on a range of issues. She also advises the Treasury Secretary on matters relating to coinage, currency and the production of other instruments issued by the United States and is integrally involved in the president's economic agenda.
