ALEXANDRIA, Va.-In March, federal credit unions will begin receiving invoices for the 2005 operating fee, according to NCUA Letter to Federal Credit Unions 05-FCU-01. The operating fee and, if needed, capitalization deposit adjustment, will be due no later than April 15. NCUA reduced the 2005 operating fee for federal credit unions by 1.23% from the 2004 rate due to a decrease in the operating budget. At the same time, the asset dividing points were increased by 6.25%, which is adjusted annually for the projected federal credit union asset growth rate. Corporate credit unions' operating fee scale will remain the same as 2004. NCUA's operating fee calculator is available at http://www.ncua.gov/data/opfee/.
