In response to Mike Welch's Jan. 19 column, "Community CU Wants to Become a Bank. Will it?" I just have to say that it is a betrayal of the members' trust that a credit union's CEO and board would attempt to convert a credit union to a bank. The taking of credit union resources in such a conversion is "grand theft." A fully-informed credit union membership wouldn't opt for a bank and give up their credit union.
