WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. – Employees of Auto Workers FCU who are members of Teamsters Local 249, called a strike against the credit union and began picketing AWFCU's two locations Feb. 1 after their contract ended Jan. 31. Auto Workers FCU and Teamsters Local 249 officials did not return calls from Credit Union Times. But according to sources, Auto Workers FCU President/CEO Mike Pasterik said the strike involves 12 employees. Pasterik said the credit union was prepared for a strike "even though we thought we were close to an agreement." He said Auto Workers FCU has four staff on the job and the CU is open for business.
