POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union lent a helping hand to members in the fight against identity theft by hosting a "Better Shred than Read" event. The over $1.8 billion credit union arranged for self-contained mobile shredding units from a leading document security company at two branch locations. With help from HVFCU, members shred more than 4.5 tons of confidential records ranging from recent bills to boxes of records several years old. HVFCU turns two branches into "Shred Central" to help members stay ahead of identity thieves.
