PHOENIX – An Arizona Congressman has been recognized by the Arizona Credit Union System for his support of credit unions. Representative Jim Kolbe, a Republican representing the Eighth District, was recognized at a Dec. 15 ceremony at a shared branch in Tucson attended by staff from Pyramid CU, Tucson Telco and Desert Energy CU. "The Congressman's work has allowed our 1.4 million members statewide to have access to financial alternatives and allowed our credit unions to continue serving the underserved," said Gary Plank, president/CEO of the League. Kolbe told the gathering that the shared branch underscores the cooperative spirit underlying the movement.
