There are many people behind the great success that Credit Union Times enjoyed again in 2004. One of them is our East Coast advertising representative, Clancey Mitchell. As part of the Chicago-based Arlington Publishers Representatives ad sales team, Clancey is responsible for a large, primarily East Coast territory that until her arrival had not set any ad sales records. Clancey immediately established pretty ambitious goals for herself. Within only a couple of years, she met all of them becoming in the process a superstar as one of the most productive advertising sales representatives in the history of Credit Union Times. She did it by making sure every one of her clients was getting the biggest bang for every advertising dollar in their budget. As one example of many of how she gets totally immersed in her job, she recently sent in an e-mail that pretty much summed up what a record-breaking year Credit Union Times had in 2004. It said in part “unless my counting is off, as of the 11/17 issue we hit 3,000 pages. With the 11/24 issue we’re at 3,048 pages for the year.” (Counting the December issues, the final page count will be 3,280.) “Now the good part,” added Clancey. “As of 11/24 we’ve run 1,252 display ads compared to all of 2003 when we ran a then record 1,239 ads.” (By year end that total will be 1,273 paid display ads.) A great big chunk of those ads were sold personally by Clancey Mitchell. Thanks Clancey! And thanks, too, to all of our 200-plus advertisers for their increased support in 2004. -
