DALLAS - Jack L. Eaker, who served as president of the Texas Credit Union League for more than 10 years, died Dec. 13. He was 73. A Texas native, Eaker began his career in the credit union movement in the 1960s working with the insurance affiliate of the Texas League. In 1976, he was named first vice president of TCUL, and subsequently served as president of TCUL from January 1979 until his retirement in October 1989. During his credit union career, Eaker held numerous leadership roles, including as a director for CUNA, chairman of the board for U.S. Central Credit Union, chairman of the American Association of Credit Union League Executives, and chairman of credit union-owned Town North Bank. Eaker is survived by a sister, four sons and three granddaughters.
