John Deere Community Credit Union, Waterloo, Iowa, has broken ground on a new 6,600 square-foot full-service branch in West Des Moines. The new branch will feature an array of personal financial services, including real estate loans, auto loans, consumer loans, safe deposit boxes, deposit and new account services, drive-up ATM, night depository, and multiple-lane drive up. Primus Construction Inc., based in Hiawatha, IA, has designed and will build the office, which is scheduled to open in June 2005. FAA Credit Union, Oklahoma City, Okla., has broken ground on a new Mustang branch. The new 6,000 square-foot facility is expected to be open sometime in the late spring or early summer of 2005. The state-of-the-art branch will include such high-tech features as remote teller stations and a palm-scanning system to improve security and access to certain areas Whatcom Educational Credit Union, Bellingham, Wash., has broken ground for its new state-of-the-art branch in Lynden, Washington. Designed by Cincinnati architectural firm DEI, the new branch is expected to open in early 2005. The Lynden branch will offer safe deposit boxes, drive up lanes and a no-surcharge drive-up ATM. SELCO Community Credit Union, Eugene, Ore., has held the grand opening celebration for its Thurston branch. Numerous credit-union dignitaries and SELCO management and staff were on hand to celebrate. The branch is the credit union’s eighth. Matadors Community Credit Union, Northridge, Calif., has celebrated the grand opening of its Chatsworth branch. The 16,000 square-foot facilitiy features two drive-up ATMs, a full-service branch and a large member parking lot. Sun Federal Credit Union, Toledo, Ohio, has held the groundbreaking for its new West Toledo branch. The new 3,000 square-foot facility is also an extension of the Monroe Street corridor beautification plan and is the first building approved under the new Toledo zoning code. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2005. Synergy One Federal Credit Union, Woodbridge, Va., has held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to ring in its first full service branch opened in nearly ten years. This event was jointly sponsored by Synergy One and the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from throughout the community as well as the chamber were on hand for this event. CTCE Federal Credit Union, Reading, Pa., has open a third branch inside the new GIANT Food Store in the Spring Meadow Shopping Center. Opening this branch created six additional jobs within the credit union. The new branch will offer teller, loan and transaction services to CTCE members seven days a week. Fort Worth City Credit Union, Texas, has hosted a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the opening of its new drive-thru facility. The new drive-thru consists of six lanes plus an ATM along with a small lobby, which will be used for Saturday service. The drive-thru also features a two-way audio system and screens at each station that allow members to see the tellers while transacting business. The remodeling included upgrading all the restrooms to ADA standards, adding three new offices, a new board/meeting room, installing new carpet and paint throughout. Security Federal Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., has opened the doors to its new branch in the Fashion Square Mall. The 6,400 square foot office will employ 13 individuals, and offers a complete range of financial services, which includes six outside drive-up teller lanes; surcharge-free drive-up ATM services, safe deposit boxes, and features a contemporary interior dcor.
