ALEXANDRIA, Va.-The World Council of Credit Unions brought visiting Mexican credit union officials by NCUA's June board meeting for a taste of credit union regulating, American style. Following the board meeting, the officials, who were hosted by the D.C. Credit Union League, met with the board members and had a briefing from NCUA staff on agency matters and American credit unions, according to NCUA Director of Public and Congressional Affairs Cliff Northup. Andre Puente, vice president for administration at the Caja Libertad-the second largest credit union in Mexico with 470,000 members located in Quere'taro, Mexico, and President of the Credit Committee David Bustamante are visiting U.S. credit unions and their organizations for about a week before heading back home.
