ARLINGTON, Va. – JoAnne Filwock, vice chairwoman of the NASCUS Credit Union Council and president/CEO of Financial Health CU, East Lansing, Mich. was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the Michigan Credit Union League and inducted into the Michigan Credit Union Hall of Fame. The award ceremony was held during the Honors Breakfast on May 22 at the League's 2004 Annual Convention & Exposition. NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney, who attended the event, said Filwock's "unswerving dedication to the credit union community and her gifted talent make her so deserving of this award." She cited Filwock's work on the Michigan Credit Union Modernization Task Force and in shaping the modernization of the Michigan Credit Union Act. In addition, Fortney said Filwock "has given years of valuable service to the NASCUS Credit Union Board."
