MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. – Liberty Enterprises is getting into ID theft – on the defensive of course. Liberty Identity Theft Service is the name of the new offering, powered by San Francisco-based Identity Theft 911. Credit reports, e-mailed alerts and personalized crisis resolution are just part of the package, and the timing is right, according to Liberty's top manager. "Increasingly, members are looking to their credit unions to be experts in area of identity theft," said Stan Hollen, president and CEO. "The Liberty Identity Theft Service provides the specialized resources that members need, while taking the burden off credit unions – allowing them to concentrate on what they do best: provide exemplary financial service to their members," he said. The service includes: * Crisis resolution for victims – One-on-one, expert guidance through the complex process of restoring a stolen identity. * Ongoing education – A ready resource of information on defending against identity theft, including in-depth articles, bulletins and fraud alerts. * A three-in-one credit report from Trans Union, Experian and Equifax. * A full year of weekly electronic credit monitoring and alerts * E-mail notifications – A year of periodic e-mail updates providing resources to enable a proactive defense against identity theft. * Identity theft insurance provided by AIG – Covers up to $25,000 for expenses involved in restoration of identity, with no deductible and no family exclusion, and up to four weeks lost wages at up to $500 a week.
