RALEIGH, N.C. – State Employees' Credit Union has teamed up with online brokerage firm ShareBuilder Securities Corporation to provide “Tools for Schools”. The “Tools for Schools” program is designed to provide funding for school supplies directly to those students who need them most in the state's 117 public school systems. For every SECU member who opens a new SECU ShareBuilder account through December 31, 2004, SECU will donate $25 to the school system of the member's choice. “Many of our members teach in the State's public school system; an even greater number have sons or daughters currently enrolled in North Carolina public schools,” said SECU Senior Vice President of Education Services Leigh Brady. “Strengthening the public school system not only benefits our membership, but the State of North Carolina as a whole.”
