MADISON, Wis.-This year the Credit Union Executives Society has walked away with three 2003 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. CUES received Awards of Excellence in the categories of sales and marketing brochures, manuals and reports; catalogs, directories and buyers guides; and four-color magazines and journals. "I am very proud of our marketing and publications teams. They work hard to create strong communication pieces that convey clear and effective information to our members in a cutting-edge format," said CUES Chair Mary Cunningham, president/CEO, USA Federal Credit Union There were close to 5,000 entries in this year's APEX competition. A promotional brochure for the CUES' School of Business Lending was singled out for its innovative use of two-color and crisp graphic elements, which gave the piece dimension and sophistication. The 2003 CUES Media Guide design creatively played up the theme "The Choice of Credit Union Leaders" and was recognized for being concise and visually appealing. In addition, the third award was presented to the November 2002 issue of Credit Union Management magazine, for its quality in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.
