PARKERSBURG, W. Va. – West Virginia Central is the first West Virginia credit union to take part in shared branching. The $43 million credit union headquartered in Parkersburg, has come on line with Credit Union Service Centers as an acquirer on May 1. Like many of CUSC's other credit unions, West Virginia Central got help from the West Virginia League and Ohio League in starting shared branching, but the credit union entered into an agreement with CUSC on its own, said CEO Mike Tucker. "We have been an issuing credit union for about four months," he said, "and my members have been able to make transactions in Ohio, Pennsylvania and as far away as Florida," he said.
