NEW YORK, – United Nations FCU celebrated the grand opening of its newest liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya on April 14. The facility is located on the United Nations duty station grounds there. That brings to three the number of liaison offices the $1.7 billion UNFCU operates. The other two are located in Vienna, Austria and Geneva, Switzerland. Unlike UNFCU's two branches, both located in Manhattan, N.Y., the liaison offices do not handle any cash transactions, including deposits and withdrawals. Instead they open accounts for members, take loan applications and provide financial counseling. UNFCU has a total of 56,000 members.
