MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. – Liberty Internet Services said that its client credit unions processed nearly $25 million in online bill payments in March, up from $12 million last June. The increase wasn't based on tons of new clients. It had 54 at the end of July 2002 and just 65 at the end of March 2003. Liberty EVP Michael Provenzano said this dramatic growth supports national studies that indicate rapid consumer adoption of online bill payment. Liberty Internet Services has interfaces to four leading bill payment settlement providers: Princeton eCom, Metavante, Mid-Atlantic Corporate and MemberStreet (a U.S. Central subsidiary).
