WARRENVILLE, Ill. – Mid-States Corporate FCU and the Illinois Credit Union League say they have entered into a strategic partnership to support each other's efforts in serving member credit unions. In that spirit, the two will hold a joint reception during the League's annual convention to be held April 12-13. Mid-States will be a premier sponsor of the convention. Components of the partnership include joint educational efforts and finding ways to use the combined resources of both organizations. There is also an exclusive arrangement to promote each other's products to credit unions in Illinois. "We're just formalizing a relationship that has been in place for a long time," said Illinois League President/CEO Dan Plauda. Interestingly, the two do compete in some areas. For example, Mid-States and the League's subsidiary, ICUL Service Corporation, each offer item processing. The strategic partnership precludes each party from soliciting the other's members in competing business lines. "We recognize there's some friendly competition between the League and Mid-States for the share draft business, and we just decided not to make it an issue," said Mid-States President/CEO David Preter.
