DULUTH, Ga. – Who says credit union marketing professionals can’t make it to the top? Amy Fuller has been named Chief Operating Officer of Georgia Central Credit Union. Fuller joined the corporate in 1998 as Manager of Marketing. “I think that fortunately in a corporate credit union of this size, it’s not that difficult for senior management to see development and potential in the entry level management folks,” said Fuller. She also pointed out something marketing professionals have been saying for years – marketing pros are exposed to so many different aspects of the credit union, it becomes almost like an education. “Whether it was working on an event or publication, you get to know people throughout the company and get to know the company pretty thoroughly inside and out, which is not unusual on the marketing side of things,” said Fuller. She also started managing the operations department two years ago which exposed her to many aspects of the corporate’s day-to-day existence. Fuller added business development to her responsibilities while she was still doing marketing, which opened her eyes to how the corporate tries to grow and better serve members. Fuller was there when the failed merger with Southwest Corporate happened. She said the corporate has no merger plans at this time, but is instead hoping to garner economies of scale through partnership and cooperation with other corporates.
