ANCHORAGE – Whether it is because of low temperatures or busy schedules one thing is clear-online banking is tops here. According to experts, Alaskans leads the national average for online bill paying by 22%. The statistics come as no surprise to credit unions here. Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union reports that about 32% of its members bank online. In just the past six months, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union signed up 4,000 members for its bill payment service.
