REGINA, Saskatchewan, Canada – A credit union service organization has won high recognition as one of Canada best companies to work for by Maclean's Magazine. Credit Union Electronic Transaction Services (CUETS), a provider of credit cards and other related services to Canadian credit unions and a member of Master Card International, is appearing on the list for third time, moving up from 47th to 36th to 33rd during the last three years. The announcement was made in the October 28th issue of the weekly business magazine that has a 97-year history of covering Canadian news. To be considered for the list, a company must be growing, have a job evaluation system, exceptional benefits, a good physical environment, a good communication system to keep employees informed, as well as be involved in community affairs. Some of the practices that put CUETS on Maclean's list includes an a company benefit-the Mommy Track-that allows employees on maternity leave to still be interviewed for internal promotions. Employees are also allowed to earn a long weekend every other week. Besides a good vacation allowance, staff get an extra day off every other month. As a result employees can achieve a balance between personal and work life. CUETS CEO Stan Kuss said the recognition is a tribute to the cooperative movement. "These standings demonstrate the depth and quality of the co-operative sector as an employer. The sector has a long history of developing positive and supportive workplaces." Some 275 employees work at the CUETS' Regina, Saskatchewan headquarters. Others work at the company's Winnipeg office. CUETS has regional offices in Toronto, Moncton, Vancouver and Calgary.
