OAKS, Pa -SEI Investments, a provider of asset management and investment technology solutions, announced that its TreasuryPoint Trading platform can now be used by credit unions. With TreasuryPoint Trading, credit union investment professionals can use a Web-based platform to manage their institution's money market investing. Users can view daily rates from multiple fund providers on a single screen and instantly initiate multiple transactions with different fund companies with a single trade session. Six of the 43 money market funds available on TreasuryPoint Trading conform to the investment guidelines of NCUA. The funds that adhere to NCUA guidelines include: Federated Government Obligations Fund, Goldman Government Fund, JPMorgan U.S. Government Money Market Fund, Nations Government Reserves, SEI Government Fund and Victory Federal Money Market Fund. Money market funds have become a significant overnight investment alternative for credit unions. Last year credit unions invested $3.7 billion in common trusts and mutual funds, including money market funds. "With cash levels up and yields at historic lows, we see credit union treasurers actively seeking ways to improve their short-term investment options within regulatory guidelines. NCUA-permitted money market funds provide the safety and liquidity that credit unions need. During steady or declining rate environments money funds typically provide better yields than fed fund rates," said Jack May, Senior Vice President, Treasury Solutions at SEI Investments.
