LANSING, Mich. – State Employees Credit Union's Louis B. Ebaugh Building has been selected as a winner in the 2002-2003 Office Building of the Year "TOBY" Awards Competition, sponsored by the Building Owners and Managers Association of Mid-Michigan in cooperation with Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. According to judges, the property won in the Renovated Category "as a result of its many state-of-the-art renovations over the past five years, along with its employee and tenant relations programs, community involvement, emergency evacuation procedures, continuing education for building personnel, and overall exceptional service." The seven-story, 31-year old Louis B. Ebaugh Building is the first in Mid-Michigan to be awarded the "TOBY" Award. The original architect for the building was Mason, Jackson & Kane, Inc., the original general contractor was The Christman Company, and the original interior designer was Joyce Kelleher. The recent renovations were designed by Keystone Design Group and constructed by K&D General Contractors. "The "TOBY" Award was created in 1985 to salute excellence in the office building industry. SECU is honored to receive this prestigious award recognizing quality in office buildings," said SECU Assistant Vice President of Corporate Services Tim Murphy. The Louis B. Ebaugh Building is now eligible to advance to the regional competition and, upon winning there, would advance to the International competition. International winners will be honored at BOMA International's Annual Convention and The Office Building Show in San Francisco, Calif., June 27-July 1, 2003. Founded in 1907, BOMA International seeks to advance the performance of commercial real estate through advocacy, professional competency, standards, and research.
