TACOMA, Wash. – After 32 years of service to the credit union movement, Jim Huggins has announced his plans to retire Nov. 27. Huggins has been president/CEO of American Lake CU, $34 million in assets, for the past 20 years. Before that he worked as manager of U of M FCU in Missoula, Mont. and served as treasurer of Missoula FCU as a volunteer. Huggins has also served in a number of local and state credit union offices in Montana and Washington State, and he was a CUNA vice president for District 3 from 1976-1977. Alan Olsen, currently president/CEO, Evergreen FCU in Olympia, Wash. has been named to succeed Huggins. Olsen has been president/CEO of Evergreen FCU since 1993. Prior to that, he was vice president of Grays Harbor FCU in Hoquiam, Wash. and a branch manager for Twin County CU in Olympia.
