SEATTLE -In line with an expansion of programming for CU Association of the West, 50 CEOs from credit unions in four Western states recently joined in special roundtable discussions here during the annual two-day meeting of CEO Okotoberfest held at the Westin Hotel. The CEO event, sponsored annually by the Washington Credit Union League for CU executives in that state, was opened up for the first time to other Leagues which comprise CU Association of the West. "We usually get about 30 but we were delighted to see the conference attendance climb to 50 with CEOs flying in here from California, Nevada, and Oregon," said a spokesman for the Washington League. The League started Oktoberfest as a vehicle for top CU leaders to discuss key issues impacting the industry. A CU Association of the West news release noted that "among the topics the leaders delved into included ways to increase lending and revenue along with how to better control expenses.
