Former Northern Star President Remembered Northern Star Credit Union, Portsmouth, Va., regretfully announces the passing of former President Frank Wright. Wright started working for Northern Star on February 14, 1977, when it was still known as Navy Yard Credit Union. He oversaw many changes to the credit union, including the opening and expansion of NSCU's headquarters and the introduction of VISA credit cards and check cards. The switch to in-house data processing also took place under the guidance and support of Wright in the early 1980s. In the 1990′s Wright was a staunch champion of HR1151, and in August, 2001 he retired from the credit union. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, his sons, Curtis and Douglas, and his grandchildren Preston and Cassidy.
