SAN ANTONIO – After the bravery displayed by police and firefighters during 9/11, these public servants truly became national heroes. The country is finding new ways to honor these everyday heroes – even motorcycles. Riding around in brand-new, bright red Harley-Davidson Firefighter Special Edition motorcycles, a group of 25 San Antonio Firefighters pulled into the San Antonio City Employees Federal Credit Union (CECU) main branch for a group photo. Looking to pay tribute to firefighters across the country after September 11, Harley Davidson Motor Company offered the motorcycles to firefighters at a discounted rate. Since the San Antonio Fire Department is part of the credit union's core membership group, in a show of support to the firefighters, CECU matched the manufacturer's financing, bringing all backing of the local purchases to San Antonio. The group photo will be printed in CECU's 2003 Annual Membership Calendar.
