LATHAM, N.Y. – Michael Lanotte, senior vice president of governmental and regulatory affairs/general counsel for the New York State Credit Union League, was appointed to CUNA's new Legislative Advisory Panel. The advisory panel, made up of six credit union league attorneys, was created to assist CUNA's State Credit Union Subcommittee with several projects over the next year that will require legislative drafting skills. Over the next year, the new Advisory Panel will be working on a model financial literacy bill, Renaissance related provisions for state-chartered credit unions and further updating of the model credit union act. Lanotte is responsible for the NYSCUL's Compliance, Governmental Affairs, Human Resources, and Legal departments.
