ARVADA, Colo. – SunCorp Corporate CU President/CEO Eric Kenealy said he's hopeful the SunCorp/Nebraska Corporate Central FCU merger can be completed by Oct. 31. Since there's no NCUA Board meeting in August, the corporates are trying to get the merger proposal on the board's September agenda. Kenealy said if it is approved by the regulator, Nebraska CUs will immediately receive a mail ballot, and the special meeting for the vote will be held on Oct. 24 "We'll give the credit unions a full month to debate the issue and think about the vote," said Kenealy. Kenealy said he's impressed with the level of participation and interest he's seen from Nebraska CUs. He noted that more than half of the state's CUs turned out to the two town hall meetings held last month on the merger. "They're involved. They're interested. We haven't heard anything but good feedback so far," he said.
