VALLEY FORGE, Pa. – Credit union data processor USERS says it is seeing a trend of credit unions converting from in-house systems to online systems. In the past, some credit unions said they would always have an in-house system because it gives them more control and functionality. However today's online DP systems can be quite robust in terms of functionality and the CU doesn't have to have staffers to handle system administration. USERS recently announced that Medical & Professional Credit Union, a $36 million, 9,590 member-CU in Idaho Falls, will convert to its DataSafe On-Line system on November 1. The credit union is also converting its Internet banking program over to USERS' PCU.
