WASHINGTON – Credit union professionals and volunteers around the country recently had a streaming video of CUNA President/CEO Dan Mica delivered to their e-mail boxes. Mica gave a preview of CUNA's Symposium and invited CUs everywhere to attend. CUNA used this same e-mail technology for GAC this past February. Here's what Mica had to say in the latest e-mail: "Hello, I'm Dan Mica, President and CEO of CUNA, and I'd like to take this time to personally invite you to be with us at our special Symposium this year in Orlando, Florida. I know the sun will be shining and there will be some excellent programs, and we start off with a real headliner: Time Magazine's "Person of the Year, " Rudy Giuliani, will be there to talk to us about lessons he's learned regarding leadership over a lifetime of public service. We also have some excellent educational programs designed for credit union professionals, and all types of new approaches. It will be very interesting and enjoyable for you and there will still be plenty of time for fun and sun. And we have a special bonus this year. We have a discussion – a debate, if you will – led by none other than Mike Welch, the publisher of Credit Union Times. This ought to be a good, lively time and we'll hear an awful lot of diverse opinions. So I invite you to be with us. Just move to CUNA's Web site, click on the Symposium 2002 link, and we look forward to seeing you there."
