RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – The California Credit Union League through the Shapiro Group, has topped more than $138,000 in grants for small credit unions under $23 million in assets since the grant program’s inception in January 2000. From Jan. 2000 – Jan. 2002, the Shapiro Group awarded 124 grants worth $138,813 to 73 credit unions. Of the total, $106,021 was funded in the technology grant program. In addition to the technology grants, the Shapiro Group offers small CUs grants to purchase asset liability management software; to complete or update their policies; to hold strategic or scenario planning sessions; to complete their Project Differentiation reports; and to defray search firm fees or other recruitment expenses.
