ALBANY, N.Y. – Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union celebrated its 25th anniversary on March 21. On March 21, 1977, NCUA approved Empire Corporate’s charter to serve credit unions in the state of New York. From $123 in assets, Empire Corporate has grown to having over $4.4 billion in assets; holds a national field-of-membership; and serves over 1,000 credit unions in 16 states. Member credit unions will help Empire celebrate its 25th at its Economic Forum and Silver Anniversary Annual Meeting on April 9 & 10, 2002, at the Sagamore Resort at Bolton Landing on Lake George, New York. Approximately 300 credit union leaders from several states are expected to attend. The Economic Forum’s keynote speaker is Tim Russert, NBC’s senior vice president and Washington bureau chief. A video entitled, “Twenty-Five Years of Progress: The View from the Back Room,” that looks at the corporate’s history will be debuted at the meeting.
