HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Redstone Federal Credit Union has received the NAFCU 2001 Marketing Award for the Best Product/Service promotion. RFCU's marketing department entered its WorldWide Branch Online promotion, which featured a targeted direct mail piece supported by coordinating point-of-purchase materials. The $1.1 billion credit union's WWBO service allows members to process their basic financial transactions, pay bills and apply for consumer loans online. RFCU was selected out of approximately 45 other entrants nationwide. Entries are evaluated on creativity, design and copy, and established goals and objectives being met and effectively measured. "We developed a full-proof formula with all the right elements for an effective online banking promotion – the right audience, the right `attention-getter' and incentive, and the right message," said Pastenna Nunn, RFCU assistant vice president of marketing/public relations. "The promotion also required a lot of coordination with other departments. Effective internal communication was key in this promotion's success." [email protected]
