Corporate Central Credit Union today announced a new student loan program–offered in partnership with Sallie Mae and made available through Corporate Central members–that is designed to help students graduate with less debt.

The $780 million Metro Credit Union of Chelsea, Mass., embarking on a planned merger that was announced this week of the $58 million University CU of Boston, said it is marking a new expansion chapter in SEG growth.

The initial reviews are in from the meeting this week between credit union CEOs, community bank CEOs and top brass of Federal Reserve banks, and so far the assessment of what was discussed on everything from interchange to Fannie/Freddie status was favorable.

Some members of credit unions that sold their card portfolios to banks in agent-issuing agreements will face another round of fees in May as Bank of America has announced it will impose a $59.00 additional fee on some accounts.
