Stickley on Security and VYFI have merged, combining cybersecurity education with information security, governance and compliance services for credit unions, banks, fintechs and other organizations.
The merger became effective Nov. 1, 2025, but the companies said they waited to announce it publicly while completing merger-related work and notifying existing clients. The merged company will operate under the Stickley on Security name after a transition period.
Stickley on Security, founded in 2007, provides cybersecurity education, protection and strategic guidance for financial institutions and other organizations. VYFI is a CUSO that specializes in information security through audits, assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, compliance and business continuity services.
The combined company will offer services including advanced security and penetration testing, advisory and assessment services, compliance and program management, business continuity and organizational resiliency, employee training, consumer cybersecurity education, and malicious domain monitoring and takedown services.
"Our mission is clear: enable financial institutions, regardless of asset size, to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance with confidence," Alan W. Ropes, president/CEO of VYFI, said. "Our vision reflects that commitment: to be the trusted adviser to partner with. We feel our merger with Stickley on Security greatly enhances this mission and we are excited for what the future holds."
Jim Stickley, founder/CEO of Stickley on Security, who also serves as CEO of Mahalo Banking, will serve as CEO of the combined company while Ropes will serve as COO.

"At Stickley on Security, we have always believed that effective training is more than checking a box," Stickley said. "It's about inspiring real understanding and lasting behavior change. Our programs help employees and consumers recognize cybersecurity risks and confidently apply best practices in their daily work and personal lives. Security only works when people understand it and we're here to help them achieve that knowledge for safe, secure and sound business operations that ultimately protects employees and consumers alike. We are excited to deliver a broader, more integrated set of services that protect institutions, empower teams and strengthen the communities these organizations serve."
According to the company, no positions were eliminated as part of the merger. Both brands will continue to operate during a transition period while additional processes are combined before the company fully transitions to the Stickley on Security name.
