Ohio’s Fremont Federal Credit Union opened its first new branch in seven years this month in Bowling Green, Ohio, 30 miles west of Fremont and 22 miles south of Toledo.

The branch at 1200 N. Main Street is Fremont’s seventh branch and its first in Wood County.

A news release from Fremont ($352.8 million in assets, 21,452 members) said it created five full-time jobs in Bowling Green with the May 5 opening. It described Bowling Green as “an ideal location for both consumer and business banking services” because of its diverse economy with education, health care, manufacturing, agriculture and retail.

“It was an easy choice to open a new branch location in Bowling Green,” President/CEO Nick Cray said. “This is a vibrant, growing community, made up of families, professionals, retirees and students. We’re happy to be here and want to help our members grow and succeed.”

Opening the Bowling Green branch is part of an expansion of Fremont’s field of membership, which now includes Sandusky, Ottawa, Seneca, Wood, Hancock, Lucas and Fulton counties in northwest Ohio.

Construction is almost complete for the Communication FCU branch in Lawton, Okla.

  • Communication Federal Credit Union of Oklahoma City ($2.2 billion in assets, 128,861 members) announced Tuesday that it has nearly completed building its new branch in Lawton, 85 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. It had 25 branches at the end of last year, one more than a year earlier.
  • NuMark Credit Union of Joliet, Ill. ($877.5 million in assets, 62,031 members) announced Tuesday that it has opened its Bridgeport branch at 3040 S. Halsted St., Chicago. NCUA data showed NuMark had 12 branches and other locations on Dec. 31, unchanged from a year earlier.
  • Rogue Credit Union of Medford, Ore. ($3.7 billion in assets, 212,621 members) announced Monday that it has opened its branch in Caldwell, Idaho, 27 miles west of Boise, Idaho and 445 miles east of Medford. Rogue announced plans for the branch last October. It is the credit union’s third in Idaho and first in Canyon County. Rogue had 28 branches on Dec. 31, one more than a year earlier.
  • Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union of Harrisburg ($9 billion in assets, 598,050 members) announced May 15 it has opened a replacement branch in Lemoyne, Pa., across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg. It replaced one that closed May 9. PSECU had 26 branches on Dec. 31, unchanged from a year earlier.
  • EECU Credit Union of Fort Worth, Texas ($4.3 billion in assets, 295,829 members) announced Monday that it has opened a branch in Hudson Oaks, 24 miles west of downtown Fort Worth. It joined the Weatherford Financial Center as its second location in Parker County.

“Over the past six months, EECU has proudly opened three new Financial Centers,” President/CEO Lonnie Nicholson said. “This growth underscores our ongoing dedication to improving the member experience through innovation and greater convenience. We’re excited to further strengthen our support for the people and businesses that make our community thrive.”

EECU had 20 branches and other locations on Dec. 31, two more than last September.
