Mountain America FCU plans to open its Queen Creek, Ariz., branch Saturday, May 17.
Mountain America Federal Credit Union of Salt Lake City is planning a grand opening Saturday of its branch in Queen Creek, Ariz., about 40 miles southeast of Phoenix.
“The opening of our new Queen Creek Branch is another important step in our continued growth and expansion in the Arizona market and serving our growing membership here,” President/CEO Sterling Nielsen said. Branch Manager Daniela Tolman said the new location is “centrally located near shopping and situated in one of the fastest growing areas of the Southeast Valley.”

NCUA data showed Mountain America ($20.2 billion in assets, 1.3 million members) had 108 branches and other locations as of Dec. 31, including 10 in Arizona. It increased its branch count by two overall last year, and by one in Arizona.

- Consumers Credit Union of Kalamazoo, Mich. ($2.4 billion in assets, 144,166 members) announced Wednesday that it has opened its fourth branch in the Lansing area. The Lake Lansing office is about three miles northeast of the Michigan capitol. It had 30 branches on Dec. 31, one more than a year earlier.
- Credit Union West of Glendale, Ariz. ($1.3 billion in assets, 91,663 members) is planning to hold a grand opening May 29 for its Lake Pleasant branch in Peoria, Ariz. Glendale is 10 miles northwest of Phoenix and Peoria is another four miles northwest. The credit union had 13 branches on Dec. 31, one more than a year earlier.
- First Technology Federal Credit Union of San Jose, Calif. ($17.4 billion in assets, 696,045 members) opened a new branch Tuesday, May 6 in Vancouver, Wash., which it called an experience center (XC). “The new XC will serve the vibrant tech community in the region,” a First Tech news release said. First Tech had 39 branches on Dec. 31, unchanged from a year earlier.
- First Harvest Credit Union of Camden, N.J. ($435.4 million in assets, 46,195 members) announced May 7 that it expects to move a branch this summer into a former bank branch in Voorhees, 13 miles southeast of downtown Camden. The new location will have multiple drive-thru lanes, a drive-up deposit-taking ATM, multiple teller lines and private consultation areas for member services. First Harvest had seven branches on Dec. 31, two fewer than a year earlier.
