Credit unions across the U.S. are doubling down on innovation. Curql Collective announced Wednesday that Curql Fund II has surpassed $309 million in capital raised from 83 credit union investors, marking the largest credit union-led fintech investment fund to date.

“This is about more than just investment — it’s about positioning credit unions to shape the future of fintech on their terms,” said Nick Evens, president/CEO of Curql Collective, said. “Credit unions that join Curql Fund II are joining a movement to drive smarter, more relevant and member-centric innovation across the industry.”

With the investment window set to close July 31, the fund gives credit unions a final opportunity to join what Curql describes as a transformation of how credit unions engage in fintech development. Curql Fund I brought together 64 credit unions and raised $254 million to back 38 fintech companies. Fund II has already exceeded those numbers, promising even more opportunity for collaboration and growth.

Participating credit unions gain more than equity. To date, Curql investors have unlocked approximately $12 million in savings through negotiated fintech discounts, early-access opportunities and exclusive pricing. As the portfolio expands, those benefits are expected to grow further.

“Relevance isn’t just a competitive advantage — it’s a survival strategy,” Evens said. “More than 130 credit unions have joined Curql to stay vital, visible and valuable to their members.”

Credit unions interested in joining Fund II are encouraged to begin internal review processes immediately to meet the July deadline.

With fintech rapidly transforming the financial services landscape, Curql’s momentum illustrates the sector’s growing commitment to ensuring credit unions remain at the forefront of digital banking innovation.
