The $110 million Interfaith Federal Credit Union in Montclair, Calif., said last week that it has completed its merger with the $16 million Holston Methodist Federal Credit Union in Knoxville, Tenn.

Holston Methodist FCU was chartered in 1956 and served nearly 2,000 members.

Rev. Reed Shell, who served as board chair of Holston Methodist FCU, said the credit union's four employees and Knoxville branch will continue to serve members.

In addition to Tennessee, Interfaith FCU continues to grow its national footprint with office locations in Arizona, Maine, Missouri and South Dakota.

Established in 1948 to serve the financial needs of Methodist ministers in Southern California and Arizona, Interfaith FCU has since expanded to provide financial services to members and churches in the United Methodist faith community, the Episcopal diocese of Arizona, Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as the Hawaii Conference Foundation of the United Church of Christ, according to the credit union's prepared statement.

Interfaith FCU recently changed its name from United Methodist Federal Credit Union to better represent the diverse faith community it serves.

Based on its second quarter Call Report, the credit union has 21 employees who serve a membership of nearly 6,000.
