In just three hours after hearing the devastating news that a fire destroyed an apartment building, employees at Oahe Federal Credit Union in Pierre, S.D., sprang into action to help the estimated two dozen people who lost their homes and possessions.

The fire was reported at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14. By 8:41 p.m., the $29.9 million Oahe posted a message on its Facebook page to accept any donations to help people who were displaced by the fire.
