What's more, at about the same time of DeBoer's retirement announcement, Cobalt FCU named Rod Latham as chief lending officer and Andrew Schmillen as chief financial officer.

Larsen began her career at Cobalt in September 1988. Throughout her tenure, she worked in various roles such as operations training officer and branch manager.

Dr. Julia Cronin-Gilmore, who chairs Cobalt FCU's board of directors, said Larsen's "background is ideal to guide Cobalt through the ever-changing landscape facing financial institutions today."

Cronin-Gilmore pointed to Larsen's notable accomplishments during her tenure as COO, which included leading new product and service development, branch expansion and core systems conversion.

Larsen also serves as a co-commander for the 97th Intelligence Squadron with the Offutt Advisory Council at Offutt Air Force Base near Bellevue, Neb.

"Robin's unique mix of strategic vision and operations background are a winning combination for our community, members and employees," Cronin-Gilmore said.

Cobalt FCU's 239 employees operate 32 branches and serve nearly 110,000 members.
