Credit unions in Louisiana and Oregon recently appointed new CEOs.

Jared Freeman was named president/CEO of the $403 million OnPath Federal Credit Union in Harahan, La., last week.

He replaced Albert Richard.

Freeman joined the credit union movement in 2005 with the $650 million Guardian Credit Union in Montgomery, Ala., where he held several roles, including COO. In 2015, he was appointed president/CEO of the $365 million ASE Credit Union also based in Montgomery, and in 2018 he joined the $495 million Leaders Credit Union in Jackson, Tenn., where served as chief experience officer.

OnPath's 137 employees serve more than 61,000 members.

Sept. 1 will be the first day on the job for Julie Garren as president/CEO of NW Priority Credit Union in Portland, Ore.

She will succeed current President/CEO Mark Turnham, who announced his retirement after 40 years of service.

His career started at NWPCU in 1980 in the collections department. He was later promoted to assistant treasurer and was named president/CEO in 1998. Under Turnham's executive leadership, NWPCU grew from $111 million to $270 million in assets. He is the longest-serving president/CEO in the credit union's 92-year history.

Working with Turnham for more than three decades, Garren currently serves as NWPCU's CFO.

The credit union's 43 employees serve more than 15,000 members.
