Downtown St. Louis, Mo.

St. Louis, Missouri-based American Eagle Credit Union has signed a multi-year partnership with the St. Louis Blues hockey team that will create a new seating area at the city’s Enterprise Center.

The credit union said this week that the deal expands an existing partnership with the NHL team and adds a 700-seat American Eagle Credit Union Terrace that features all-inclusive, in-seat food and beverage service. In-venue advertising is also part of the deal.

“Partnering with an amazing organization like the St. Louis Blues is a natural fit for American Eagle Credit Union because we both have a long history of serving the St. Louis community,” American Eagle CEO Bob McKay said. “This sponsorship is about more than naming rights for us. We are proud to be headquartered in St. Louis and are proud to invest in local causes and organizations like the St. Louis Blues that are close to our members’ hearts.”

The credit union also sponsors the team’s annual St. Louis Police vs. Fire Hockey Benefit Game and a First Responders Night.

Enterprise Center seats 19,150 people for St. Louis Blues hockey and can seat nearly 22,000 for basketball, concerts and other floor-seating events.

“With a nearly 80-year history of dedication and service to the St. Louis community, American Eagle Credit Union is a perfect partner for our organization,” St. Louis Blues vice president of corporate partnerships Eric Stisser said. “We’re excited to bring the AECU name to more than 19,000 fans each game in our newly-renovated home, the Enterprise Center.”

American Eagle is not the NHL team’s only credit union sponsor. Earlier this month, Edwardsville, Illinois-based Scott Credit Union announced a five-year deal that would make that credit union’s name and logo visible to fans though advertising in the Enterprise Center. That agreement also included featured signage in the arena and concourse areas, as well as naming rights to the new, limited-access Rinkside Club and Pub ‘67 (the team’s NHL franchise was granted in 1967) inside of the newly renovated Enterprise Center. Scott Credit Union has $1.2 billion in assets and about 144,000 members.

AECU is also a sponsor of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, as is Scott Credit Union.
