"While we continue to give Bob's family our heartfelt thoughts and prayers—as well as offering them respect and privacy—we are currently planning a fitting tribute to Bob's remarkable legacy at Members 1st FCU," he said.

Under Marquette's leadership, the credit union grew from $401 million in assets and 71,718 members in 1997 to its current asset total of $3.5 billion, and 355,415 members, making Members 1st the third largest credit union, by assets, in the Keystone. With that growth, the credit union increased its number of employees over the last 20 years from 150 staff members to more than 1,000 today.

Marquette joined Members 1st FCU in 1986 and headed the credit union's mortgage department, oversaw lending and served as COO before becoming president/CEO in 1997. He gained prominence in central Pennsylvania as the star in Members 1st's TV commercials in which he often appeared dressed in a red-and-white superhero costume.

He received many awards throughout his career, including CEO of Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions, the Keystone Award by the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association and most recently the Credit Union of the Year Award and the White Hat Award at the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions' Annual Convention in June.

In addition to his parents, Bob and Betty, Marquette is survived by brothers Thomas and John.
