The Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis. said Monday its President/CEO Rudy Pereira for five years will resign April 14 to become the new president/CEO of the $2.2 billion Premier America Credit Union in Chatsworth, Calif.

Royal CU said the move will allow Pereira and his family to return home to Southern California. Early in his career, Pereira worked at California companies such as Hughes Aircraft Co., Hewlett-Packard and held executive positions with California credit unions such as the $3.9 million Kinecta CU in Manhattan Beach, the $1.7 billion Schools Financial CU in Sacramento and the $3.1 billion Wescom Central CU in Pasadena.

"I certainly understand the opportunity to return home is one Rudy couldn't let pass and we appreciate the success he has helped the credit union achieve," Royal Credit Union Board Chair Doug Olson said in a prepared statement "Royal is well-positioned for the future because of Rudy's visionary and laser-focused leadership."
