“Obama Administration Contends That CFPB Structure isConstitutional,” Dec. 29

What do you expect from this administration that has subvertedand side-stepped the constitution since day one? The CFPB is notonly a waste of money, it's also misused the funds it has taken. The most telling part of their failure is that the Americanconsumer is no better off now for all their actions.

“Credit Unions, Life and Everything In Between,” Jan.11

[Tahira Hayes'] Jan. 11 introductory column got me to thinkingabout something I've been observing at the GAC. I attend it eachyear (it's easy – I live in northern Virginia).

The thing that puzzles me is the number of volunteers who appearto be just placeholders in their CU. I strike up conversations withthem, and they seem to be pretty much out to lunch about thefinancial challenges facing their respective CUs.

The poor vendors try to interest attendees in their product orservice by offering trinkets galore. One year one vendor offeredfive minutes in a plastic booth with fake money whirling around.Give me a break.

I can't count the number of times I've been in a conversationwith a vendor representative, only to be interrupted by somebodywanting to know what the vendor was giving away. The interlopergets the lip balm, bag, pen, etc. and then disappears.

I noticed the first year I attended that the ID badges arecolor-coded as to professional versus volunteer. They wouldn't haveto be differently colored if everyone were serious aboutinvestigating possible new services.

Has it always been this way?

“Don't Fire CFPB's Cordray, Lawmakers Advise Trump,” Jan.17

The CFPB is an example of everything that's wrong withgovernment … it's ineffective, it doesn't help the folks it was setup to help, and it's now run on the whims of one person! Not onlyditch the leader; dump the entire enterprise!
