Andrew Downin was named managing director of research at the Filene Research Institute, the Madison, Wis.-based organization said Tuesday.

He succeeded Ben Rogers who left Filene in September after he accepted a position at Qualtrics, a research software firm in Provo, Utah.

Downin joined  Filene in 2013 as director of innovation, where he led the iprogram and helped establish Filene's incubators, including the Financial Empowerment Incubator, where solutions designed to make financial services available to all people are tested for impact and scalability.
