The $580 million True Sky Credit Union is the new name of the former FAA Credit Union, the Oklahoma City-based cooperative announced last week.
“Our new name and look are the result of significant thought on who we are as an institution and where we want to be in the future,” Steve Rasmussen, True Sky president/CEO, said. “We are immensely proud of our history with the FAA and are grateful for the continued support of our many members who work there. In recent years, our membership has grown to include not just FAA employees, but also people from all walks of life.”
The credit union was founded 1946 to serve employees at the Civil Aeronautics Administration, which later became the FAA. The credit union expanded in 2001 to include members from the community and opened a bilingual branch in Oklahoma City.
True Sky serves more than 51,000 members.
As part of its rebranding efforts, True Sky is also updating its signage in branches and new logos on its communication pieces, and updating looks for its checks, debit and credit cards.
In addition, True Sky said it is launching a multi-faceted advertising campaign, which includes billboards, social media and television to introduce the fresh identity to the community.
True Sky also announced it is opening a new branch in Edmond, Okla., on Aug. 1.
