The NCUA in June bannedsix people convicted of various crimes—including a former employeeof a Kentucky credit union whose actions led to the institution'sinsolvency—from participating in the affairs of any federallyinsured institution.

Debra C. Pyfrom, a former employee of I.B.E.W. Local 816 Federal CreditUnion in Paducah, Ky., pleaded guilty to bank fraud and wassentenced to 78 months in prison, two years' supervised release andwas ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $600,250.

Her embezzlement led to the insolvency of the $5.4 millionInternational Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 816 FederalCredit Union. In June 2014, she admitted she had stolen more than$100,000 over two years. At the time of her arrest and initialtheft charges in July, an audit of the credit union's finances wasunder way.

A year later, she was indicted and was accused of stealing morethan $600,000 between February 2006 and July 2014.

In addition, the NCUA issued a prohibition notice to Mary Brown,a former employee of the $170 million Southbridge Credit Union inWorcester, Mass., who had pleaded guilty to the charge of larceny.Brown received two years' probation.

Kayla Liston, a former employee of the $115 million Fire PoliceCity County Federal Credit Union in Fort Wayne, Ind., pleadedguilty theft. She received a suspended sentence, two years'probation and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of$14,216.

Erica Richardson, a former employee of the $75 million PeoplesCredit Union in Pembroke Pines, Fla., pleaded guilty to receivingcommissions or gifts in exchange for procuring loans. Richardsonwas sentenced to one year of probation and was ordered to pay$10,000 in restitution.

Brandy Andrews Turpin, a former employee of the $59 millionSoutheast Federal Credit Union in Cornelia, Ga., pleaded guilty totheft. He was sentenced to eight years' probation and was orderedto repay $11,407.
